Biblical Rant...Part 1

I am really fascinated how some people seem to pick and choose how they use the Bible…
I had a bit of a heated discussion with a “Christian” who was annoyed by my love of dogs and other   animals and my distaste for most humans….. I was told that there will not be animals in Heaven and that animals do not have souls….
I have had discussions this discussion with a few other religious people that claim the Bible says they do not have souls….  OK, so where is this verse? No one can produce it.  I have asked many religious people, I have Googled it and have asked a couple of pastors.  No one can show me a verse.   Also, many try to claim that animals do not go to Heaven.....well here is a verse that says they do:

(Isa 65:25 5 - The wolf and the lamb will feed together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox, but dust will be the serpent's food. They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain," says the LORD)   and (Revelation 5:8-13 all creatures recognize Jesus as the Savior of the world and praise God right along with redeemed men.) and (Genesis 1:24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth souls of life according to its kind, the cattle, the beasts of the field, and creeping things according to its kind. Genesis 1:30 To every animal of the earth, and to every bird of the heavens and to every creeping thing on the earth, in which is a living soul, every green plant is given for food.)

This person also said,  “God gave man “dominion” over the animals”…and yes, that is there….BUT… that does not mean that a man is better than the animals…  and why do I feel that way?  Because it also says in the Bible that man is in “Dominion” over women as well….

 Genesis 3:16King James Version (KJV)

16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
1 Corinthians 11:3
But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
1 Corinthians 14:34-35King James Version (KJV)
34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.
35 And if they will learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
Ephesians 5:22-24
22Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body   24But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything.
Colossians 3:18
Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
Titus 2: 3-5
Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.
Proverbs 7: 10-11
10And behold, a woman comes to meet him, Dressed as a harlot and cunning of heart.11She is boisterous and rebellious, Her feet do not remain at home; 12She is now in the streets, now in the squares, And lurks by every corner.…
1 Timothy 5: 9-14
No widow may be put on the list of widows unless she is over sixty, has been faithful to her husband, 10 and is well known for her good deeds, such as bringing up children, showing hospitality, washing the feet of the Lord’s people, helping those in trouble and devoting herself to all kinds of good deeds.
11 As for younger widows, do not put them on such a list. For when their sensual desires overcome their dedication to Christ, they want to marry. 12 Thus they bring judgment on themselves, because they have broken their first pledge. 13 Besides, they get into the habit of being idle and going about from house to house. And not only do they become idlers, but also busybodies who talk nonsense, saying things they ought not to. 14 So I counsel younger widows to marry, to have children, to manage their homes and to give the enemy no opportunity for slander.
Psalms 127:5
How blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! They will not be put to shame when they confront enemies at the city gate.
Genesis 1: 28
And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it
In Genesis 20:15; 29:31 and 30:32;  It states that God is in charge of opening and closing the womb…..
So according to this person I was debating with, I am a bad and "sinful"  person for loving animals so deeply and feeling the same kind of love for my animals as I do my human children ….yet this person has a wife that teaches a Sunday School class that has both men and women in it…..she works outside of the home and also goes to school part time and after their last child, she had her tubes tied…. if they are going to try to quote the Bible at me, they need to rethink things, as by these verses, they are not doing what God wants them to do, yet they feel it’s ok to judge and reprimand me…. When it clearly states above, that a woman is to be at home, tending house and making babies…..

So…what I have learned from this (as well as many other topics) is that uber religious fanatical people manipulate the verses in the Bible to use as they see fit, usually to justify their life choices.
Another reason I avoid people that are overzealous  their “Christianity".
These same people also have trouble understanding why so many others are not believers. Have they ever sat and pondered that maybe it could be the fact that so many of these loudly outspoken to the point of obnoxious, in-your-face, "I will beat you with my Bible to make you feel God's desire for you to walk with him" , so called "Christians" scare them and make they uneasy and freaked out about God, church and all things religious???
Something to think about people....
